Images are a great way to improve your blog but the banner ad you have embedded for the Deamstime service is quite strange. It's a pretty image but doesn't actually seem to sell the service. Shouldn't it carry the name of the destination site?
You have to have eye catching images or your blog is just gonna be overlooked.Also the more images you put the less you notice the ads.
I personally don't like too many images on a website. They can be confusing, take too long to load up [not everyone has lightening fast internet speed], and can be offensive. People should be careful about pictures on websites.

While I agree that the ability to post photos and, on occassion, videos, is very useful to a blogger, I think it's gotten way out of hand. Don't ever let it go from a visual aid or a border color to just something bright and flashing in the middle of your screen for no reason. That overwhelms the audience sometimes, and can also contribute to an inability to follow the story, or take the page (and it's writer) seriously.
I was always one who preferred taking my own pictures. A CyberShot T1 for instance is very handy for snap-shot use.

This looks like a fascinating site. While I usually like to use my own original artwork and photographs, sometimes having someone else create it for you can help. There are several other sites that you can get these things from, and some of them are free. You might check ourmedia.org or creativecommons.org if you are a cheapskate like me. :D

I have recently checked out this site and the images are a really good way to improve my blog. For a very small amount of money there are some professional images that can be tailored to the users needs, but the free ones are also really good.

A must have bookmark for your blog.
Images are great, but they can be a double edged sword on some blogs. Too many images really can scare most web users away, or confuse the content with the ads of your site.
On the other hand, you can't make a very exciting site without images. I'd just say, use them sparingly. If you think through why you are putting an image there, you can carefully plan how to lead your visitors to a more enjoyable site. Thus you can get more people reading your blog. :)

I wish people would use more original photos for their blogs. Stock photos can make a blog look so fake and general. Adding a bit of yourself in your blog keeps it genuine. Lets try it more often. Look through the sites to see a good pose or pic that you like, then recreate it or borow from it. Good Luck!

Getting good images for your blog is important because we are so visual. Good quality and for a good price (read free) even better.
Photos are worth a thousand words. A thousand quality words (quality photos) are worth a thousand dollars in blogging.
This is a great recommendation. There are also lots of other good stock photo sites such as istockphoto.com that can be used for blogs.
Try using Google Images.
Like above, just rip them off from other peoples sites.

If your site is really popular, you can host your images on Amazon S3 for dirt cheap disk space and bandwidth.

Well, it is like many others photo web sites. I'd rather a free use of images. It looks interesting the option to sell your own pictures. I think that it is important to get in a blog a personal a different look and feel, and that's very difficult using these stock images.

You are right about photos being needed. I have used that site before. But you should also try government sites, most if not all photos on them are free and public domain.

Dreamstime is great! I have gotten images from there. Another site I like to get images is bigstockphoto. The images are not free, but very reasonably priced.

The best sort of images of course are the ones you make yourself, with your own camera or draw/scan in. Clip art is fun to play with though.

We are learning the advantages of using images to break up strings of text in journalism class this week.
